INTRODUCTION TO CORGAL TANKS
CORGAL®
is an acronym used to describe corrugated and galvanized steel.
CORGAL® is a registered
trademark of Water Storage Tanks, Inc., the manufacturer of CORGAL
tanks.
The
CORGAL
product was developed to provide a non-corrosive storage vessel for the liquid containment industry.
|
The
CORGAL
structure consists of corrugated and galvanized steel panels which are bolted together at a project site.
The wall sheets are curved for the specified tank radius and punched for connections to adjoining wall sheets.
The roof panels are formed and punched to be bolted together to create a shell structure roof system.
|
|
A geotextile preliner is installed inside the tank structure walls and onto the tank foundation.
This preliner serves to protect the main water containment liner from damage and also to wick moisture
away from the interior of the tank walls.
|
A factory-welded-seam, flexible membrane liner is then suspended inside of the tank structure eave for water containment.
|
|
Connections of piping to the tank structure and liners is accomplished by the installation of penetration flange sets.
The outer penetration flange attaches to the structure or foundation and is sealed to the exterior or interior piping.
The interior seal flange bolts through the liner and into the outer penetration flange to make the connection watertight.
